The choice of brazing material（brazing aluminum sheet/plate/strip/coil） is one of the two main contents of brazing (the other is welding process formulation), and its influence on brazing results is self-evident. Therefore, it is very important to select solder correctly and reasonably.

In order to ensure the desired results of brazing, the solders we choose are generally required to meet several basic requirements:



The melting point, the melting point of the solder to be moderate, too high will reduce the mechanical properties, too low will weaken the strength of the joint; linear expansion coefficient, closer to the parent material; physical and chemical properties, resistant to corrosion, good electrical and thermal conductivity, relative to the parent material in addition have better wetting effect, the popular performance and filling better; good mechanical properties, have certain plasticity, the color to be matched with the base metal; good economic performance. In addition, taking into account the active chemical properties of the aluminum itself, the electrochemical corrosion of the alloy elements in the brazing material and the parent material is avoided when the brazing material is selected.

In the existing industrial production, the Al-Si system is widely used in brazing. In general brazing, based on the above Al-Si alloy, we should implement specific welding methods and performance requirements of welded joints to selectively add some elements, such as Mg, Cu, Zn, Ge, Ni and some other rare earth elements.
